Pinoy-Puerto Rican Bruno Mars earns 7 Grammy nominations. Nugglepurl: The half-Filipino, half-Puerto Rican R&B singer-songwriter, music producer Peter Gene Hernandez 'Bruno Mars' has now earned a total of seven nominations at the 53rd Grammy Awards.
Mars, whose real name is Peter Gene Hernandez, scored nods mostly as a songwriter and member of the writing/production trio, The Smeezingtons (together with Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine).
Mars' team-up with B.o.B also warranted him nominations for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Rap Song. As a solo lead artist, Mars got a nod for Best Pop Vocal Performance for “Just The Way You Are” his debut single that spent four weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. Both songs have also been produced by The Smeezingtons.
